The Six Attitudes of High Achievers

 John R. Noe

High Achievers...

Make no small plans: PLAN BIG
It is important to always reach for the stars and aim high. With anything you do in life it is important that you go big or go home. Planning big is better than planning small because it allows you tackle down more things that will guide you to success rather than planning small and just letting things happen as they may because you didn't plan or have things not work out how you expected because you weren't prepared enough to expect twist and turns. So it is crucial to prepare and plan big because you are able to knock down uncertain events that might affect your plans. One way that I can use this new attitude is through writing down my plans and planning more effectively and more broad so that I can be prepared more. "Setting a goal is not the main thing. It is deciding how you will go about achieving it and staying with that plan," Tom Landry.

Do what they Fear
High achievers never let their fears stop them from succeeding, fear are created and are there to push one's ability to tackle them down succeed. Fears push us to limits that we are afraid of, they test our determination and will to fight. If high achievers let fears get the best of them then becoming successful would become hard to achieve because we were never willing to break through those fear barriers. Once you break through your fears you will begin to see your strengths and weaknesses. and you will overall be more prone to dealing with any fear that may be in the way of your success. “One of the greatest discoveries a man makes, one of his great surprises, is to find he can do what he was afraid he couldn’t do.” —Henry Ford.
                                                        Are willing to Prepare

People who are willing to prepare are always on the right track to a more better life. Being prepared shows that you are read to handle any situation that might come at you. Whether it be a small as a pop quiz or even as big as a natural disaster, those who are willing to prepare will always know how to handle situations in any shape or form they come. It is important to prepare because it creates a determined and correct mind set on how to deal with things, those who choose to wing everything and not prepare are less likely to succeed because they are not ready to tackle issues and situations that might come their way. They are likely to quit fast. ''There are no secrets to success. It is the result of preparation, hard work, and learning from failure," Collin Powell

Are Willing to Risk Failure
It is important to understand that not everyone that wants to be successful will make there easy, when becoming successful there will be many risks and failures that one must overcome and conquer in order to reach the pot of gold. No one is perfect and not everything comes easy in life everything comes with hard work and determination. If everything in life was easy to reach then everyone would be able to the mountain of success with ease, but that is not how it is in life and it takes only the people that willing to never give up to succeed. Some of your biggest risks and failures will shape you and teach you better, you learn from your mistakes. "Being a pathfinder is to be willing to risk failure and still go on. Gail Sheehy

Are Teachable
High achievers are teachable because they have the will to learn and gain knowledge. Having the will to learn is important because it shows you aren't ignorant to other people knowings, knowledge and skills; you are willing to learn to better yourself. You gain knowledge that you didn't have before and that is what makes you a high achiever. You never stop learning and you set the bar high for achieving greatness. High achievers are teachable because they are willing to learn from their mistakes and fix them next time, they do not dwell on their faults but rather excel off their achievements after their mistakes. "Not until we have become humble and teachable, standing in awe of God's holiness and sovereignty...a acknowledging our own littleness, distrusting our own thoughts, and willing to have our minds turned upside down, can divine wisdom become ours" J. I. Packer

Have Heart
High achievers have a heart for what they do, they are driven off passion and heart for what they do. They do what they do because they have a strong and big love for what they do, they enjoy doing it. Having a heart for what you enjoy doing guides people to success and high achieving because they will never slack off or not perform well in what they are doing. Having a heart doesn't necessarily just apply to success, having a heart can also benefit yourself because it shows others that you care about something or them, it doesn't make you a selfish and greedy person, having a heart means that you are willing to extend your hand for someone else without second guessing yourself. "Put your heart, mind, and soul into even your smallest acts. This is the secret of success. Swami Sivananda
